I posted in this part of the forum thinking that I would get constructive advice, but obviously people who told me that certain parts of this forum should be avoided were right
Sorry to be another bearer of bad news, but your 'upgrade' will almost certainly have triggered a new 12/18 month contract. Your house move is not decreasing your package, you will still have 'unlimited'...just slower, this is the injustice will all ADSL broadband pricing in the UK, the only solution is to leave.
"constructive advice"? again, I'm sorry but nobody thinks it's 'fair' to be charged the same price, but it is what it is, nobody is going to suggest options which don't exist just because you wish they were there. Maybe asking BT to change the package to one of the capped ones may be a solution, but 512kbs is good enough for surfing and many other web activities..just because faster is available to some does not make it essential.
Some 'constructive' advice
- sort out your wiring in the new house, don't plug the modem into an extension socket etc...
- Look for instructions on removing the ring-wire, and follow them,
- when you're settling in, reboot the modem one day around lunchtime - you should get your best sync around this time.
try to get the very best out of your line.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
