O2 cashback (how do I get the cash)?

Options
I've signed up for the 02 broadband deal. I went through the Top CashBack site and did it all online.

How do I get the £75 back? My friend tells me that I will not get the £75 because there are conditions which I will not meet; those conditions are there specifically designed to ensure that I don't meet them and so they don't have to pay me. What are those conditions, what mustdo/not do?

(PS I am sure this has been discussed and ironed out on this site somewhere but I searched and couldn't find it)

Assuming you mean the £75 offered by Topcashback you would need to:

    1. Clear cookies before clicking through Topcashback (if you had visited O2 via other links first).
    2. Test Tracking to ensure there are no issues on your computer (goto my account/test tracking).

Number 1 is always advisable, Number 2 is not usually necessary if everything is initially ok.

    .
    ...
    ....

Even though you may not have done the above transaction may still track.

After 1-7 days you should see a transaction for O2 appear under 'Pending' in your account details (note the O2 comment that it may initially track as a lower amount).
After a given period of time (cancellation periods etc.) the transaction should move to confirmed (the retailer has acknowledged that you are due the cashback).
After a furtehr period of time this will move to Payable and you can request a payment from topcashback (according to the site the average is just over 9 weeks for O2)

In the event that the cashback doesn't initially show under pending after a week you will need to raise a manual query with Topcashback for the transaction and wait for O2 to validate although this can be very slow!!

you will see it on the cashback site you went through and you need to give them your details so they can pay you.

Ah yes I see it, it's in myaccount/earnings/merchant and it says I'm due £100 which is not correct but I'm not complaining :-)

Quick - 3 months Hmmm, that said, call me a cynic but I can't believe that I'll actually get anything. I'm one of those guys that throws away without question anything that comes through the door offering something for free. We'll see and I will report back accordingly.

    Thanks for the info

The cashback is FROM TopCashBack (who get it from o2's marketing budget) but your cashback deal is with the TCB site and NOTHING to do with o2 as far as you are concerned.

IF you were careful with cookies (see posts above) you SHOULD have the transaction TRACKING on the TCB website (look in the EARNINGS section in stead of the OVERVIEW section). It can take a few days to appear in the tracking. If not then it is POSSIBLE you can raise a query on the TCB site - need to read the rules/procedures on the TCB site.

As all the sites say Cashback is never guaranteed, but I have had a lot over the past, with the largest transaction being £120 on an annual home insurance policy, saying that I have had a couple of transactions that haven't tracked.

Just checked mine and it's tracking at £100, but should only be £75. Due for payment in November so we'll see what happens then.
