I have 1 desktop, 1 laptop and 1 multifunctioner. The 2 computers are connected wirelessly but if I want to print I have to connect the computer to the multifunctioner with a USB lead. Is there any way round this? The multifunctioner is a HP7210. Any suggestions?

Hi, you can get network printers. They tend to be more expensive because they're designed for office use, but they plug straight into your network via Ethernet.
Or you can get a print server such as this:

Not sure why plugging in via USB is a problem though?0 -

The laptop and the multifunctioner are approximately 10 metres apart and it would be handier if the multifunctioner printed them as I press the print button rather than having to wait on it to print them all!
I thought maybe a RJ45 Ethernet Network cable connecting the multifunctioner directly to the router would be better?!?0 -

Right
plugging it into the network would seem sensible, according to the hp website, you should be able to print, scan and copy from any machine on upto a 5 user network.
If the cable run is not possible, you could always get yourself what is called a "game adaptor" which would wirelessly enable the printer, so you could connect it to the network that way.
Good luck0 -

Doesnt the 7210 have a network port built in?
If so, you dont need one of those devices!0 -
Is this the cable I need to connect the router to the multifunctioner, a RJ45 Ethernet Network cable?0

All you should need is the network cable between your printer and the router/switch/hub.
This depends on if your device has a network port built in, best way to check is take a look in the documenation or at the actual device itself.
The documentation should also help you do the setup of everything as well.0
