Hi,

If you have a garage outside your house but the curb is raised, can someone park infront of it?

Thanks!

    Yes.............
  • Keith is correct.

OP if you don't have a dropped kerb you have no vehicle access to your garage and shouldn't be driving a vehicle in or out of it.
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam
  • get the kerb dropped and/or put a polite notice on the door
  • no drop kerb means you have an illegal footway crossing - and no hope of the police enforcing agains anyone parking in front of the garage.

contact your local council who will be able to advise you on the best way to get a proper crossing point (and may even have a fund to help pay for it)
  • Its pretty mean of anyone parking in front of a used garage dropped curb or no.

But there is no vehicular access to the garage if the kerb is not dropped so it cannot be in use.
  • We've got loads of people round our way with recently made parking bays outside their houses accessed via a curb with a few bits of wood to help the car up.

is it legal to paint the line yourself?
Local Council quoted me £200 for painting a H bar line

Erm, no? But I don't think the police are going to come arrest you for it exactly.
