Hi,
I am looking into cancelling my Sky subscription, does anyone know if i will stiill get the 'free' channels (itv2, E4, More4 etc) through my sky plus box once i have cancelled Sky? and also will the Sky plus box still work? I do not have my sky through a phone line, when i had it instlled a paid a little extra to have it set up another way (not sure how) as i don't have a phone line.
Any help would be really appreciated

You should still be able to get the basic free to air channels but I believe that any content stored on your Sky Plus box will be lost.0 -

You could try removing the viewing card just before you cancel your subscription, then buy a cheap second hand Sky box from the small ads and use that for three months to receive the 'free' channels. After that time you could then revert back to your Sky+ box which should then still record as before. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

You will continue to receive the free to air channels but you will lose the functionality of the Sky+ box in terms of recording, pausing etc. Anything you have previously recorded will also be lost0 -

hey u might just be a bit lucky to get the freeview channels but im pretty sure u wont be able to record0 -
Thanks for the help everyone, i thought that as i ahd paid for the sky plus box that it was actually 'mine' and therefore sky wouldn't have any control over it once i was disconnected, obviously i am wrong in thinking this, it is annyoing though, i don't actually want sky anymore but i will miss being able to record, pause etc0

So follow the steps in post #2 then! You will be able to receive the free to air channels but you will lose the record facility of you don't:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
