I got a reply email today, from a company I'd emailed, asking about hair, make up and nails.

I had to look at the email a few times because I was stunned ~ I'd emailed them back in October, and they've only just got back to me now!! (The date was in the email)

I definitely won't be using them lol!!

We have changed our minds about centerpieces and favours, think I'll sort them next week so we don't change our minds again

My Aunty has very kindly offered to make the 4 flower girl dresses which will save us £500 :D she's making them exactly the same as the ones we've seen

Wow Chel, what a kind Aunty, and a huge saving there too!!!

I keep chopping and changing my mind with everything at the moment, which isn't helped by the fact that we may be moving house soon, eeeek!! More planning and stress, just what I need.....NOT! lol

I can't wait until this year is finally over!! (Yes I know it's just started)

Well i have been shopping this weekend and need advice from you all!

The men are in Kilts and they will have black shirts/ socks rather than the cream.
My son will be 2 and we decided to just have him wearing the kilt and a ghillie shirt and waistcoat as feel who shirt/tie thing would be too uncomfortable for him.
We decided to go with a black ghillie shirt/socks to match the men. Now what we are stuck on is should we still get him a waistcoat? With the shirt now being black i am not sure if it would still have same effect!
    any advice would be great..

this is the sort of shirt he will be wearing:

hunnycat if it was me I'd have him in a shirt and tie but the eleasticated tie IYKWIM, I just think the little ones look so cute in one

If you stick with the other idea then I think the same as you, you'll loose the effect

Just out of interest will your son be wearing a vest??? If so you'll beable to see it with that top in the link

    What does everyone think???

    flowergirldress.jpg

The ages of our flower girls are 2, 4, 8 and 11

The 11 year old will have just started high school so not sure if this will ruin her street cred :rotfl:

    What do you think???

probably not wearing a vest as everything under one roof so will be hot enough.
Its actually the kilt shop who reccomend this type of shirt for him, forgot to say he will be only 2 by then. They say the full outfit is really restricting.

I Am thinking of ordering the waistcoat and changing the buttons to silver which would make it stand out a bit, then he will have somehwere to put his button hole and can take it off after the service :)

as for your flower girl dresses i like the style its lovely but i think the 11 year old may not be so keen, maybe you could adjust it slightly to be more mature for her? :)

I did think that about her not wanting to wear it
I think I may dress her the same as my BM and MOH but have straps put on her dress
Before I decide we need to know if her mum (MOH) is pregnant then I can finish planning dresses/sashes/stoles etc.

Good idea about changing the buttons :D

  • As a woman who was forced to wear something rather similar to that dress, aged 13years, i beg you - don't do it to her!!!! Either something similar or older bm dress with straps! I had to wear an ankle length dress a bit like that and it just was NOT good - i still have to suffer the photos! And to make things worse, it was my sisters wedding and the culprit who chose to make me look like little bo peep was.....my OWN mother!!!! Bah!

It is a gorgeous dress - just not for an 11year old.....

(hope that didnt all offend you!!!!!) :o
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
