  • Wow, what a diverse, interesting, inspiring read over the last two days.
So many things I wanted to respond to, and then in the next post someone takes the words off my keyboard. Sprinkles of congrats and hugs all round. But it confirms I'm in the right place. :D

Wasn't around for the Ewok distribution but can confirm I am on 8/31.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

How bad does it have to get until there is the kind of help and support that smokers get......

Drinkers will never get the support that smokers are starting to get now. As soon as the smoking ban kicked in, the government had to offer support as they were putting smokers in an uncomfortable situation. And as they have lost untold revenue because people are quitting and not buying so many fags, that coupled with cigarette advertisting being banned they need to make money somewhere. Hence, if you pick up any type of alcohol whether it be bottle or can, there will be no health warnings, nothing about the ethanol contained in the liquid which could kill you if you over indulge, nothing, just 'drink sensibly'

Off for a proper catch up, was on the mobile all day yesterday so couldn't read or thank people properly.....could take a while, think there's about 8 pages to catch up on

If I'm not back in half hour please send out a search party :rotfl:

    Morning all :coffee:

This is going to be a bit profound but I had a strange revelation in a dream last night; someone said to me "Why do you drink? You're amazing"

Believe me, it made no sense in the context of the dream AT ALL

So I think someone is trying to tell me something

Aiming to stay AF today (first in far too long ) so may need my paw holding :)

    This was in my newspaper:

"For drinking, the NHS's drinks tracker, which can be used for iPhones and other mobile phones, tells you how many units are in each beverage, how much you are drinking over weeks and months and even promises to provide personalised feedback on your drinking. Tip: do not be tempted to use it as a game to see how many units you can drink on a night out." (!!!)

Apologies if this has been mentioned before during the weeks I was awol; I just happened to come across it last night & it seemed very pertinent as there's been a lot of discussion about lack of help. I've not had time to look at it though.

Must go & get showered etc, before lunch!!

    But first......

A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel & were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour the manager came out of his office & asked them to disperse. "But why?", they asked, as they moved off. "Because", he said, I can't stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer."

HB we'll all hold a paw for you today! I'm not troubling the scorer......(what's an ewok?)
