    Oh and forgot to say:

Dear Lurky well done on suggesting this a year ago, we are now going into our 2nd year. What a lot of good you have done my friend, you have helped such a lot of people that have managed to achieve so much with the help of this thread.

That off the cuff comment you made has now developed a life and a community of its own.

You my friend are a really special guy, caring and funny watching out for us when we need it. A diamond geezer and lovely bloke :A and you do a mean mince pie too ;)

Hugs Duck and I wish you a fantastic 2010 because if anyone deserves it then you do :A

    Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ((()))
Cherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home :)

[SERIOUS MODE]those heated pads from the chemist seem to work quite well, so maybe something along those lines... hot water bottle (at a pinch)? :o[/SERIOUS MODE]

I'll see you later, baby ;):D

Not thought about the heat element - will unearth my hot water bottle, thanks :)

    Hi guys
Budgie and IM - best of luck you brave brave people. I'll watch your progress with interest!
I'm declaring at 6 days which is a miserable failure but having said that, it means the only way is up and I have only two work events in Jan so 20 days is my target and I is sticking to it. :A

Welcome DB and SL - I really find this thread very helpful and it is good to read other people's experiences. Also it's great to offload without people judging you.

I am considering feigning swine flu to get out of NYE... have no money left and really don't want a bad night to kick off the new year
    xx
    AF days in Feb 2010 - 2 :A

Oh Squizz, I know what you mean but perhaps you'll feel better if you're just honest & tell people you fancy a quiet night in?

It's not easy tho, I know *bearhugs*

EDIT:  my washing machine is squeaking - perhaps the mice have taken it over!

  • Budgie,

You sound very focused. This is going to be so exciting, there are quite a few of us now going for 365 days, the full monty as you call it. It will be good to give each other support. There is myself, Jo, you and S S Angel, not forgetting MollyPolly. Sorry if I have forgotten anyone.

I love your ref to A as a snake sneeking up on you. I totally agree with that, and as you say it is easy, too easy to think you have beaten it. It is just a case of re thinking our whole approach to it, and making sure we dont allow ourselves to be fooled into thinking just one will be okay!!

Stay strong and focused BB we can do it.:j I thought the charm thing for my bracelet, would be a good idea for me. OH bought it for christmas and its only a few charms on it so far. I would'nt normally treat myself to £20 just like that, but I figure I will have saved over £100 per month staying AF. After a year I will have a lovely bracelet, and quite an investment too.

Its just a case of finding something that works for you.

Good luck, and look forward to reading your daily AF post.

IM, I think your charm bracelet is a really good idea. I treated myself to one recently to mark some pretty significant achievements - it only has 2 charms as yet & it may be some time until I add another as they really have to mean something to me. But that also makes it so very special as I'm sure yours will be :)

    Best of luck :A
