Welcome DecemberBaby and well done on posting :T:T0

Hi DB
Well done on posting and Happy Birthday, everyone's great on here, I find posting every day, keeps me grounded, just like touching base.
All the best for your January challenge:j
40SM, sorry just read back, thanks for the congrats on my 100 day challenge. I was fine doing the challenge but it finished on xmas Eve, on Christmas Day/Boxing day I gave in and indulged in wine. I regretted it after, and felt myself slipping down the slope. I did'nt want to undo all my hardwork. So I have started a new challenge 3/365 so far. Yes I have lost 2 1/2 stone, not bad for 100 days work. So I wish to continue and loose some more. Thats a good enough reason to stay AF I think.
Also I have promised myself that every month I stay AF I will treat myself to a Pandora charm, with the money I have saved. That way by the end of the year, I will have a lovely momento of my efforts. Hopefully I can stay AF after the year, as I realize the first drink should always be avoided.
Good luck with your AF journey.365 AF Day Challenge 32/365:T:j

DecemberBaby wrote: »Hi all,
Please may I join you? I found this thread when searching for "cutting-down alcohol" and I've been reading through it for a few days. Getting my nerve up to join in! I am very worried and and anxious about my drinking.
The most I have managed so far is a couple of days off and then back on again. I don't know why I find it so hard to cut down but I do. It is very
encouraging to see so many of you doing well and the help and encouragement you give each other. It helps to know there are others out there with a similar problem and that they are tackling it.
I am 51 today! I really feel it is time I did something about this drinking as it makes me so miserable. I'd like to join in the January challenge if I may and say I will try for 25 AF days. If I manage to achieve that I will be delighted!
Best wishes to all
DB
Same here. We may have perfect control of other aspects of our lives but NOT when it concerns alcohol.
I know for me I am alcoholic. I don't like stopping at one drink.0 -
That box of beer lasted from the week before Xmas 2008 till the end of August 2009, then temptation was just too much. I must not be in a position to have alcohol available anymore, that's one of the secrets I think
I know exactly what you mean GP, it's the first day that's the worst. IcelandicMaiden and myself have just embarked on a 365 AFD challenge, we are 3 days in, why not join us
Alcohol is always available. When you have wanted a drink in the past you have managed to get some.
The secret is changing the way you think so you don't even WANT to drink. And there is no secret there - you just have to want it and to be willing to go to any lengths to get it0 -
Anyone got any good tips for getting knots & aches out of shoulders, aside from a hot bath?
I would get a hunky man to give me a massage but BF isn't here til New Year @ LBM = £15,872.65, now £10,819.82AF Jan = 7/? Feb = 5/14 Mar = 14/20 Apr = 6/14 May = 2/14 June 2/14 July 0/TF Aug 1/TFv Sept 6/TF Oct 4/7"NEVER DOUBT YOUR OWN QUALITY"0 -

2 1/2 stone weightloss is brilliant definetly an incentive.

Its me again
Just wanted to say welcome back SL and hi and a very warm welcome to DB, well done on posting and good luck on achieving your target for January.
Beware the power of the Honey Bear she is a force to be reckoned with
She does always offer a paw and a hug when needed though, a very lovely and caring bear.:A Bless her :A
IM lovely post sweetheart and well done on 100 days :T and such a lovely idea for the pandora charm, I am sure you will achieve your target and enjoy wearing it. Hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Marru sweetheart I am on ten days, thankyou so much for scoring and doing such a fantastic job :T Thankyou :A (()) xxxxxxxxxxx
So I am going to join the 365 day challenge and go for a year af, I know Graeme suggests one day at a time, for me I need to focus and stay strong. I have been a pillockI should never of started drinking again in June, I was doing so well.
It really does take a hold of you, it winds its way covering your body and soul just like a snake. Ready to inject its poison, to disable you and to be in control. Sorry but I am seeing a snake, it creeps up on you when you least expect it.
So I shall hopefully slay this snake, after all I am a chinese dragon
So enough of my insane ramblings, what I mean is you think you have this thing beaten, but before you know it. It is back and again controls you, telling you that you need it.
I have been very anxious and feeling nervous, my Ds has said how stressed I am, the spa day is to help me relax (very sweet of him).
I am not at all myself but hopefully if I stop drinking again then that will be a step in the right direction.
So thankyou to all of my very dear and special friends, without you I wouldn't have achieved so many af days this year and without you I won't manage to go and achieve 365 days next year.
I am on 1/365 and I intend to update every single day as another af day.
Budgie is back, she's focused and she is going for: "THE FULL MONTY"
The Quest has begun ...........................................................
Love n hugs guys

[SERIOUS MODE]those heated pads from the chemist seem to work quite well, so maybe something along those lines... hot water bottle (at a pinch)?[/SERIOUS MODE]
