  • have been able to go out socially without drinking and had the revelation that amazingly - quite a lot of other people do that too!! Hurrah! And we can actually enjoy ourselves!

If you can't go to a "wet" place without having to have a drink, then you should be asking yourself some serious questions about your relationship with alcohol.

  • Morning all :hello:
What a chatty lot you've been! I haven't logged on for a few days so feel I have missed a lot I'll try to catch up later.

3 more AF days for me please GG for a total of 10

Once unexpected result of cutting down on alcohol is that I have lost 3lbs:j I don't know quite how because I haven't been eating any differently in fact I have been having a few treats to reward myself but since I started this about two months ago 3lbs have melted away. Has anybody else had this experience?

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I've been trying to cut down on my units in order to try and lose some weight. I haven't lost any yet but I suppose it is still early days.

However - with much thanks to the support from everyone on this thread - I think I will be better off my about £70 this month :T. If I carry on for a year that will be nearly £850:D Wish I'd started earlier:o Maybe I would be debt free by now?

((Shaggydoo)) thanks for the flowers, that's so kind. What will you do with the £70 you've saved?

  • Had a bit of a surprise last night. When you all say "the bells were ringing" I take it to mean that the booze was calling to you? And it's been like that on most of my AF nights over the past two weeks - but last night, it didn't even occur to me to want a drink! I was very surprised and happy sipping my Thorncrofts and tonic. And could seriously get addicted to feeling this good in the mornings!

(Still can't get used to weeing this much though! :)

 everybody, long time cutter-downer checking in. Am on 15/16 for November, tho' am not on GG's official list. Have got right out of the habit of drinking, no more trips to the offie on the way home, NO drunken cycling, no hangovers, no embarrassment. Am liking it! But I haven't given up and will have the odd glass of something at christmas if I feel like it.

    Take care everybody.
