Oddly enough - (this is beginning to get a bit freaky) so was I - MP is right you know..........

It got easier in May when it was completely give up - than my random caving in at the moment

GC, Molly, Bis, E and so on etc all say its easier after a bit - just wonder how long a 'bit' is?

Today is my 18 month anniversary for being alcohol free:T
I can't believe where the time has gone.
Thought I would post Spring watch girls' post from the original thread again for those struggling...and for all the newbies.

    Here you go.....

"Well, week 5 of no alcohol and I see a different person in the mirror. My eyes no longer look dull and vacant, they actually have a little sparkle and my skin doesn't look like uncooked pastry anymore. I feel that I have won a battle but not yet the war. Hope everyone else is at the point they want to be, I never want to be that person I was, I have been tempted but I just think back to what I had become. The sun is shining at the moment and I feel good and want to continue to have the sun in my life."

The war still goes on but the enemy does get weaker everyday.

    Take care of you
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

Well done Mollypolly you really are an inspiration:T and thank you for posting Spring watch girl's post. I hadn't seen it before but I recognise that "skin like uncooked pastry" look in the mirror sometimes.
I've decided that even though I'm out this evening with friends at a pub quiz (our team 'It's On The Tip Of My Tongue' ;)) I'm going to be AF. Who knows my brain might work better when not lubricated with red wine! To make sure I stick to it I'm going to offer to drive. Very few people (other than on here of course) know that I am trying to change my drinking habits so my friends will keel over in shock when I say that I will be the designated driver!
So Fay I will be doing the Wednesday challenge but I will confirm tomorrow that I was successful.
Good luck to all in whatever they decide to do alcoholwise and hugs to yellowhammer and winebox.

I also think the same thing, funny we had pretty much the same amount of abstinence at the same time (well you did considerably better than me, but you know what I mean ;)). I think I remember our conversations back then, you counting the willow and me sitting in the back garden discussing 'when is it gonna get any easier?' that was 'for me' 21 days into my abstinence and it didn't feel any easier

    Hello all,
Still AF since last Fri :) Was very tempted last night when my sky broke & I was sooooo bored hehe!!

I've skipped 3 pub lunches at work (yes they do go EVERY lunchtime here...) so I'm well chuffed!! A few people did notice my absence & asked why - just said I was off the booze for a bit. Of course they laughed & said whatever pfft!!

Going back to slimming world 2moro so that'll be a great excuse to stay AF over the weekend (syns are stupidly high in booze!) Think my real test will be when I go to the pub & ask for a lemo...
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
