40sm - been thinking with 2 afd's this month you've saved £10 - buy yourself a bunch of flowers/choccies/something yummy or a treat today for later on tonight ?

Part of changing the habits is to be kind to yourself - you don't have to spend the whole lot (unless you want to :D) but I used the money to make small changes to my stress levels, (flowers, candles, nice book, magazine, something nice....) with my AFD money (its the reason I wanted to suggest we use it for this month!)

    Morning all!

Sorry I'm late on parade again - please put me down for 21 AF days again this month. I'm already up to four, but we've got a big family party towards Halloween which will be a big test. I'm trying not to think about that for the moment..

    Hope everyone's well :)

    Snowy

Edit - seems the threads have been merged and moved, so sorry for repeating myself :D.

Well done. You can decide on that day if you want to drink. No point putting yourself through the mill about it now.
One day at a time. That's the only way to stay AF that works for me.
I wake up and decide not to drink for today only

    Hi all,

I've not been here for a while, not because I couldn't find you but because I have failed miserably in controlling the wine.

I went for a night out and drank tonic water all night, but as we were about to leave some-one was going to leave a glass of wine. My habit of never ever throwing anything away kicked in and I drank it thinking just one won't hurt and I've had a bottle every night since for the last ten days!!!

Somebody on here has a sig saying something like 'one is too many - a thousand is never enough', that certainly rings true with me.

I will now pick myself up, dust myself down and start again (for the umpteenth time)! I don't normally log in during the evening so maybe I should change my routine and come on here for the support when I need it most.

Hope everyone else is well, I will go back and try to catch up with everyone now, it was on about page 45 last time I was here so lots to read.

Please can you put me down for 20 AFD's in October Fay, I know it is optimistic but it is Monday and I am feeling positive today.

    MOS X

I used to do that. I hated when people left drinks (especially if I purchased them) so if they didn't want them, I couldn't see the harm in me drinking them.
When people would get their coats, I would sometimes finish their drinks!!:o

I think that is pure alcoholism - I would not have done it if they had left lemonade or food, but alcohol I thought it was acceptable.

I now know that one sip of an alcoholic drink will set off a craving, and then I will be drinking heavily again before long. I don't want that any more, and all the chaos that ensues

MOS, glad to have you back :) MP's got that saying in her sig, thanks for reminding us about it. Time for a reminder for everyone.....
