    Hi All

Sorry to have not reported in the last couple days !! been so busy with allotment duties.

    4 so far in October & £16 already....yippee did £120 in September too !

Also I have been drinking sparkling water & lime....not even thought of alcohol for days. Think the lime really helps the cravings somehow.

Anyway....had a long soak to ease my back ( too much digging) & need to dry my hair.

    Night Everyone.

Just love sparkling water now, only drink it in the evening though! lashes of coffee during the day. Dont even fancy a glass of anything else now.

    Good Night:D

    Hi,

I thought I'd post in here, though obviously I can't read up to now ( a mere 60 odd pages!)

I'm going to try to be more or less alcohol free for October, what are the tips for 'going out'? In the past I've been able to do it (one lent during uni me and friend didn't drink, and went out a few times), but a week or so ago I went out and wasn't drinking and had to head home after a couple of hours because I was knackered... but I think that was probably the company more than anything!! The other problem I sometimes find is that it becomes a battle with people - in the past I always made sure I got to the bar by myself first, and could pass off a coke as containing vodka

    Anyway, I've toyed with giving it up for a while, but am going to try again for the following reasons;

    a) health
    b) finances
    c) hang overs
    d) supporting my partner, who drinks far too much

People seem to record the number of free days in a month? I have no idea on spending, so it's hard to see in terms of money saved, so I think days will be the way to measure it!

    Hi toby

Great to `see` you. Fantastic to hear that you are ready to have a go & cut down...remember every AF day is a success..as is cutting down the amount in a day that you drink. Its about taking control & being in control of the drink rather than it being the other way around.

Yes we set a target for the month....ie 10/20 whatever days & then report in as & when...or whenever you want. fayjmck is scorer this month & you get a nice gold star for every day....plus if you work out what you drink on average & turn that to £ value then you can see how much the drinking is actually costing.

Obviously the health side is uber-important & for most of us is the overidding driver for being AF.

I have always struggled with alcohol for many years...since posting on this thread I find that knowing others are battling is really helping me.

Personally I have found that lime cordial & sparkling water or soda (if I`m out) is so good at kerbing the cravings.

    Oooops waffling again :o:o

    Hi fay

Is that the Tesco `finest` blackcurrent or rasperry sparking cordial? I had some the other day £1.16 a bottle & was lovely !!! a real treat.

I have almost harvested now...parsnips, potatoes, beetroot, beans. peas & onions. Its only my first year & not been worked for years but at 10x30 meters its alot of ground to work through:eek::eek::eek:...esp on my own. Nevermind cheaper than the gym.

My 100 days started on 29th Aug & have started adding in my sig....whoohoo thats 37 days so far:j:j

Hope you are well.....btw you are doing a great job at scoring !!
