The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread! Part 5

Ventured out of the house with DD to do bit of shopping and turned into a monster mum. All I was able to think that I will go to c00p to buy a drink and as soon as I get home have some. Then I realised I had forgotten to take my meds this morning so going to take them now, have a cup of tea, close myself into my bedroom for a moment and hope that moment will pass. I have got my switch card back so in theory I could still go out but I won't. I have some oat biscuits with low fat soft cheese and ginger ale with Xfactor to look forward to. I have put on 6 pounds since starting this challenge so eeeek!
That's why many alcoholics find it so tough not to drink. The obsession with alcohol. It is so restrictive and such a narrow world.
Alcoholism ruins days out with families, as us alcoholics can not just enjoy the day (or even tolerate it) for what it is.
Thankfully it is not like that for me now - I went away and never had any desire to drink for the whole time I was away. I would not have believed that were possible a few years ago, but it can be if you want it enough0 -

Can someone tell me what is Milk Thistle is and what is Kudzu and where can you buy them from?
Fay, still no AFD for me this month - would like to try for 10 tho please and my spending would be about £4.50 a day, tho it could be more because I smoke more when I drink.....
Did the book arrive?0 -
Hi Gromit :hello:
All I know about milk thistle is that it's good for cleaning the liver & you can get it from Boots - never tried it myself tho
I'm whacked after all my cleaning & decluttering, not to mention nagging Jo :rotfl:

I'm having oat biscuits with homemade hummus and fresh ginger tea, quite similar to what you are having tonight! I'm not watching X-Factor though!:Dgromit2303 wrote: »Can someone tell me what is Milk Thistle is and what is Kudzu and where can you buy them from?
Milk Thistle is supposed to cleanse your liver and help repair any damage and Kudzu is supposed to help with alcohol cravings (but that doesn't work with everyone.) I get both of mine in Holland & Barrett.
I have a lone bottle of beer downstairs and I had a massive craving earlier, I forgot to take my Kudzu today. I'm not having the beer though.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Waves to all having tied the house down as its force goodness knows what outside
I have got some dvds for later (don't have a tv in the lounge) and the fires on so we will have a dvd fest
Got some HM grub (yum)
Done lots of chores and cooking and wood chopping and carting in the house, locked all the doors (its so windy had to look for keys as we don't normally lock them) and decluttering and car tidying and paying garage and setting up puter stuff etc
Hope everyones good and OK - nice to see budgie and some old faves reappearing - will add budgie and gromit to the scores
Update the doors later not many results in so may leave it til later
