  • Good luck in the spare room, and hope you find some treasures you'd forgotten about that will come in handy now for yourselves or ebaying.

    Cheers

    Hi PBH :hello:

Just read your diary with interest. You've made some good changes and I'll bet you'll be debt free in time to retire :T
There are many of us who are here due to reckless spending - and I for one find it a hard habit to break :o

I too recycle presents and used to feel guilty, but it's just passing on the good karma - so that's how I look at it!

Keep up the good work - I'll keep popping by to see your progress and pick up tips ;)

    Hi PBH

My DD lost her brand new £80 coat during her Friday night out. Thankfully they still have it where she left it so she's going to pick it up today. What are they like!!

  • Hi CBM

It's so nice to be missed. I'm just sneaking on here while I'm at work. My colleague has been off sick for nearly 5 weeks and I don't know whether I'm on my head or my heels!!

I've been so busy at home and work that I haven't even had a minute to update my diary but hopefully I will be back to normal routine if there is such a thing soon.

I've started my Christmas shopping at last but unlike previous years I am checking prices and using vouchers etc and I have set myself a budget. All my previous Christmas' have resulted in big credit card bills - not this year!!!

I have gathered up a big box of "stuff" to ebay and have a full freezer so hope not to spend very much on food over the next few weeks.

I had my hair cut this morning which seems to go up in price every time I go but heyho there are some things I refuse to give up. Then I succumbed to a costa coffee & muffin which was another £4 but because it was atreat I really, really enjoyed it.

    Bye for now

    Hi PBH

Glad you have emerged from your spare room!! I am also a Costa Coffee fan and succumb at least once a week (OH is the same too). I suppose it's better than always being in the pub!! I've nearly done all my Christmas shopping and am waiting for Boots Advantage Card shopping evening next week to get the rest of it as they are giving £17 worth of points for every £50 you spend and I think I may just be able to get the bill up to £50 if I leave all my toiletry needs purchases until then. I am thinking ahead to next Christmas (mad person that I am!) and might have a go at paying for it all with vouchers, points and money left over from the grocery budget as a challenge to myself as although I will be debt free I will still need keeping on the straight and narrow!

  • Hi SA

Fab idea for next Christmas - not actually spending any hard cash. I think I'll join you with that challenge. Do you know if all all branches of Boots have Advantage Card evenings?

Daughter still hasn't got her bank card which means subs from me & I doubt she will remember that she needs to repay me!!!

  • Hi PBH
Sounds like you've got your hands full covering your colleague, do you know if they will be back soon?
Good luck with the ebaying. I am still all ebayed out and can't face it at the moment!
The advantage card evenings are listed here on the boots.com site. There's a fab glitch on at the moment, where you can buy a reduced No7 pedicure set online and qualify for the free gift. I was really tempted, but DD has got a pedicure set and I don't have anyone else who would want one. Full details are on the Grabbit board.

    Cheers

Just thought I'd better add you only get £17 of points if you attended the last Advantage Card Christmas Shopping Evening as they gave out the extra points voucher then. If you didn't you'll get £12. But it's still worth it if you think you can spend £50.
