In & out of broadband

As I'm out of the country for a few months each year, I need a broadband package that I can dip in and out of. I don't really want to pay for the months I'm away. I'm aware that most providers want a 12 month contract, don't they? Can anyone suggest a package?

Even if you were to find an ISP which will connect you & disconnect you, being on a monthly contract without charges for leaving in such a short time frame, you'd be faced with the BTw ADSL activation charge of £47 each time you wanted to reconnect.
Lets say you were on a basic ADSL product costing £14.99pm, you'd have to be out of the country for more than 3 months for it to be worthwhile disconnecting, and then reconnecting on your return. Personally, I'd have to be out of the country for 6 months before I considered disconnecting, due to the inconvenience of having to disconnect/reconnect all the time.0
