Ames, when i make a stew i just bung everything in the pot together - no browning or anything, add water and an oxo cube, cook for about 1 1/2 hrs on 180deg C then thicken the liquid with gravey granuals, add dumplings if i'm having them , cook til dumplings are done and then serve.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

Thanks Scaredy, I decided just to have the veg, taties and a lump of cheese. Not a traditional combination, but it covered all food groups!
I'll put the beef in the slow cooker in the morning with some tinned tomatoes and spices. Would chick peas or spinach go with it? Not sure what else I've got to throw in.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

ring them back cat....when I ordered for DD1 when she moved out - they had a special offer on....when I got through they quoted me a different price, so I said I would think about it.
