Can't get through to ISP to cancel

We've been having a lot of problems with our broadband lately, and have decided to switch to another provider. However, we are now finding it impossible to get in touch with our current provider! We have spent the past two days trying to get through to them, but when we call, we either get a message saying the helpline is closed, or placed in a queue that we never seem to reach the top of, no matter how long we stay on the phone. We have tried emailing but the email just bounces back. What is the best way to proceed? Is there any way to change providers without a MAC code?

Make a complaint through Ofcom, they deal with complaint with difficulties obtaining a MAC code from ISPs. I'm unable to post links yet but there is a page on the Ofcom site for this.0

You can also complain via www. ISPA.org.uk (Internet Services Providers Association) they have an online form which they pass onto your ISP who should then contact you.0
