All this may change in the future if the postoffice gets a really big grant from the Government (not sure how many Millions) that will allow them to install new updated sorting machines throughout the country.
Another Royal Mail myth. A4 envelopes or flats as they are called ARE sorted by machine at a rate of 32,000 an hour. Royal Mail are to update all their sorting centres with these machines. They can process a great deal of mail by machine, but the packets, parcels and odd shaped envelopes need to be processed by hand. Now considering that each centre has up to and over 400 staff at work at peak times, thats when their costs soar.I'm back after a break :money:0 -
I dont see why you think 2.9% is much of a rise MrB. And surely its standard practise to backdate it to the relevant payrise date. I dont see the relevance of the pay rise to the price rise.0

It isn't much of a rise considering your Postie is out in all weathers. Its 0.5% above the rate of inflation, which is better than what Nurses got and takes postal operatives outside the London weighing area to around £320 for a 40 hour week. I dont begrudge the workers of Royal Mail that, but when you think that Royal is making around £400m a year before price rises.............I'm back after a break :money:0 -
Just ordered a size guide thingy from Royal Mail... did anyone else have an issue with this part:
I would like to receive emails about Royal Mail's products, services and special offers from time to time. Yes No
It wouldnt let me say no!! tried clicking it loads of times but had to go with yes in the end!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

You are so right dougk! There's a lot to be desired from the queue now, I can't imagine what it'd be like if the staffing remains the same when the gauging takes place.I know nothing0 -

I have to say I didn't get this problem with Royal Mail on this occassion. However, I had to laught to myself, a few times when I've been signing up for various things it has seemed like it won't let me say 'no' to newsletter subscription etc. I click on no for a few goes and it doesn't work, and then give in and click 'yes' and it goes through straight away! ha. It's not just me going mad then....:rotfl:Stuff Happens As Wave of Ambiguity Spreads:cool:0
