A few questions to see if my idea works

Can you port a BT landline to skype for SkypeIn?

Can you control skype account from internet to set diverts

How does the THREE skype work- can you leave it in a mode to receive skype calls ?

With the Mobile "3" skype scheme can you take incoming calls on on that landline number " and hence free ? OR

Can you set a divert from skype landline number to the skype mobile phone ( if so is that free) .

I ask this as
1. want to keep a paricular number for incoming calls , but can't see the point in paying BT when won't really be using it + would like to collect calls on a mobile- without the caller having to pay more !

OR is it just easier to leave a " call my mobile" message !v

----

edit maybe a better soluation is o2 landline new deal- will look into although on a personal contract rather than business

You can call external BT + Mobile Numbers from Skype.

You can use it with headphones, microphones, in-built mics, in built laptop speakers, VOIP (Internet) Phones and many more.

There is a box (or was) that would convert your landline into an internet phone to be used.

Some of the more expensive handsets can connect straight to your modem/router via Ethernet, which eliminates the need for a Computer.

Yes, 'Call Forwarding' is an option which is enabled through the Skype Software to a number of your choice. Skype Credit/Subcription may be required though, or the caller may have to pay for the call out of their Skype Credit, I am not sure.

Credit and Subscriptions are ONLY required to make outgoing calls. All Calls to other Skype Users are Free constantly, calls may be as long or as short as you like, and the limit is 25 People at a time. That can be Skype Users and External Lines, but adding external phone line numbers to the 'Conference' will cost the 'Host'.

The Host is the Person that initially Started the Call, and is operating it.

Skype can be installed, or comes standard with Phones on the '3' Network. It will operate exactly the same as on your home computer, as far as I know, and therefore you can still make your Free calls to other Skype Users or use Skype Credit or Purchase a Subscription.

The Skype Subscription is an Alternative to Topping up ten pounds each time, and especially good for if you find yourself making loads of calls.

There are a range or Subcription Packages. One Covers U.K Only, I think there is one for Europe, One for the entire World and another which I can't think the name of. (All info available on Skype's Website)

I'm not aware of the 'Mobile 3 Skype Scheme' by name, but to clarify, Skype on a Mobile Telephone Handset works the same way as it does on the PC.

I am currently testing and trying out various different features with Skype. I think you can Buy a number for incoming calls to Skype, which obviously costs. But You can certainly use any number to send Skype SMS Text Messages from, and calls. So when you call an external number from Skype, or SMS it - Your Number will be displayed instead of being annonomous by default.

When a Caller contacts you by dialing your Mobile Number, The Handset itself will ring how it normally would, it is totally seperate from Skype, as you may already be aware of.

As Mentioned earlier, You can Purchase a Skype number from their website. You pay a certain amount EVERY 6 MONTHS, Which in my eyes isn't worth it; Especially not for Personal use anyway. If you wanted it for a business, then you might change your mind.

I don't know much about how the O2 Landline works, so can't answer that I'm afraid.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask
