Opticians in England should wear a mask as they make your glasses. The cost is outrageous!
I get my eyes tested (work pay for this) and then I order my specs from Hong Kong.

I got two pairs, delivered for $US60. Fantastic value and I recommend them whenever I can. They took 10 days from order to delivery."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

the eyetest is subjective and relies on a good understanding between the optician and patient - mistakes can be made by both parties. also if there has been a big change it may not be tolerated by the patient all at once and may have to be reduced to aid tolarence and made up next time, also a comon problem with reading glasses is the focal distance a person reads at generally and comfortably which can affect the reading addition.
in these cases a follow up recheck should always be performed - at no cost - and if the prescription is found to be incorrect new lenses provided without charge.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.
