Madasafish contract/router issues

Options
Hi Guys,
I know many others have had the same problem with the Voyager 210 router losing conection well after 3 years with Madasafish mine has just about had it, iv'e contacted Madasafish about this and they have offered to replace this with a Thompson 585 wireless router free of charge with just £6.99 for P&P in return for agreeing to a new 18 month contract at £9.65 for 6 months then £14.65 for the remaining 12 months.
As my current 12 month contract at £9.99 pm runs until January 2010 I have queried both the contract length and also the cost but they only say this is the best they can offer.
As a loyal customer of 3 years should I not expect a better deal ?

Any ideas/suggestions on my next step ?

Cheers

For my second year with them (MAAF) I negotiated a delivered wireless replacement for my 210 at £9.65/ month for a further 12 month contract. So after your three years with them their offer seems derisory! For 18 months (remainder plus 12 months on top?) too, they're surely extracting the urine at your expense?
I'd be contacting again to reject their offer and if there's no improvement, as has been suggested, get a cheap router, continue as you are and tell them to stuff it at the end of your present contract.
Like the above poster, I am limited to only certain providers at my exchange but did manage £7.31(5Gb)/month with MAAF for a further third 12 months agreement which personally suits me sir and no problems with the service.

Edited to add that from 22 October MAAF Ts & Cs are changing. One of the changes, increase of cessation charge, which is a detrimental change, means you may cancel your contract early without penalty. The 30 days notice has decreased to 10 so there's a bit of leverage for you!
You should receive an e-mail from them, I did 10 minutes ago, with a link to the alterations and some questions and answers.

    Any Plusnet Reps online ?

My dialog trail has gone cold !
  • No need to accept new contract. Check out sites like ebuyer for a cheap router and use that instead. It worked for me. Incidentally, I recently contacted MAAF to cancel my modest 5GB per month broadband contract as I needed a higher limit and didn't want to pay their outlandish prices. They immediately offered to up my download limit to 20GB per month at a LOWER price than I was paying for 5GB It looks like they want to keep their customers and are prepared to do whatever it takes. It did cost me a new 12 months contract but it suited me, so why not.. Remember to access SAYNOTO0870.COM to get the landline number and bypass the 0845 number - saves money if you have free phone calls to spare.

New wireless routers are cheap. £25 + free delivery on Play.com.
Or second hand one on Ebay for a fiver? Check buyer rating first to check level of trust.
