Was this private car-park (ie a supermarket), or was this a council run car-park or was the car parked at the side of the road?

That will make a lot of difference.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • More information is needed as we can't help on what is given. Who issued the ticket? Where was it?Was it a coe firm?ncil or a privat

  • Ticket issued by local authority parked on double yellow ??
  • Photo/scan all paperwork rec'd and if possible a photo of the area and lines/signs. Host on tinypic and post the url on here and leave a gap after the http:// bit.Hopefully those in the know will be able to help.

Is it a 'secret' local authority?

Who 'owned' the car at the time?

    Quite simple questions I thought?

You either want to resolve this or you don't. No wonder you describe yourself as stressed!

Simple basics please. Name of Council, exactly what correspondence you have received and how you come to be involved.

Personally I would start by writing to whoever issued the ticket explaining that the driver is now deceased and enclosing a copy of the Death Certificate - then at least you've done something towards sorting this.

I had problems with a parking ticket issued when parked on double yellows, but displaying a blue badge and the following forum was a great help:-

However when it came to personal intervention someone on there directed me to - Neil Herron (remember the Metric Martyrs?) http://www.parkingappeals.co.uk/Home/tabid/728/Default.aspx who was exceptionally helpful - pointing out that the company who had acted on behalf of the local authority and issued my ticket, was not in fact the same company whose name was printed on the ticket and therefore it was unlawful :T.

He e-mailed me personally and the most he asked was that if I was successful, I might like to make a donation to the Grace House Hospice Appeal - which I was only to happy to do.

    Good luck.

Neil Herron is indeed knowledgeable but I have to ask a question or I will be remiss.
There is no implication whatsoever that Neil is mistaken and it should not be inferred.

The registration number of companies is the key element. Although the names are different they may may both be backed by the same registration number. I know for a fact that Companies House allows quite a bit of relief in this situation.
Are the two names in fact backed by different registration numbers ? You may verify by looking on the Companies House website.
