Thanks neneromanova, however I need truly the strongest pull in known to man! I've found Spanx Slim Cognito Seamless Mid Thigh Shaper which might just fit the bill. Have ordered some and can return if not right, so will measure widest part without them, then put them on and measure again. Hopefully they will be fine, and then I can wear them afterwards with slinky dresses.

  • OMG thats so not like me to miss an MSE opportunity :)
I guess thats why they manage to charge prices like that when you mention the wedding word. <Sigh> Saw it and had a rush of blood to the head.

Ahh well it's mine now :)

Let me know if it turns out to be proper quality. Might buy the black one for the OH pleasure. :rotfl: Forget wedding. Sex all the way! :rotfl:
What's yours is mine and what's mine is mine..
  • I'm a big girl (hopefully to be a bit smaller by the wedding lol) however I think slinky bridal underwear is off the cards something to pull me in seems much more likely! Thinking about a gok wan corselette slinky thingy from simply be that I can wear a mutiway bra with. That way I can still wear stockings as is has clips on it

Oo stoockings? Are you sure you want to? As a larger lady myself I attempted stockings on my first wedding (when i was smaller than I am now) and i have never been in so much pain from the thigh chaffing. I didnt really notice it at the wedding as i was "slightly" drunk but when we got to the hotel it kicked in with a vengance. I had to sleep with a cold cloth between my thighs and was in pain for a few days afterwards. It also meant we couldnt seal the deal so to speak as I was in so much pain.

Maybe wear tights for most of the day and then slip into some stockings just before you leave?

  • I don't think I am going to wear tights, although it will be winter, because my shoes are peep toe and I can stand seeing the tight end poking through iykwim!

Toeless tights? Thats what i'm going for as i'm wearing peeptoes too but couldnt cope without tights (see previous post!)
I will then sneak them off just before we leave
  • I was told by my dressmaker to have the underwear I was wearing ready by first fitting. I had a long corset type thing that went down over my bum, it was strange, but very sucky inny & smoothing over the hip lumpy bumpys! (I sound like a childrens tv presenter! :p ) Also commando as anything would've shown. The dresses that I had tried on in the bridal shop didn't need bras as they had inbuilt scaffolding, but that in itself freaked me out & I ended up having a dress made. I would go for comfort all the way, there's enough [STRIKE]annoying[/STRIKE] distracting things going on without coping with things you're not used to. I only ever wear stockings, can't bear tights (they make me panic! :o ) so that wouldn't have been a problem but as it was chose thermal socks as I wore boots. They did match the dress though...
  • Im going braless coz im not the biggest in the boobie dept and my dress has enough support which I was gobsmaked at because I was convinced I would need to wear a bra.

Knickers I think I might wear a sexy pair of briefs, dont do thongs and I prefer pants to them short things.

Its gona be very warm so def no tights.

I bought the Gok Wan sassy slip to wear under a slinky dress to a wedding last weekend. It was awful. For me (size 12 with quite large bust), it just wasn't long enough (and I am only 5' 1") The suspender attachments weren't long enough either. The cup area of the bra part was also poor, no decent support or shape. It looks so fab on the website. When I tried it, my other half just asked why I was bothering as I looked better in my everyday bra and knickers with control top tights. It was immediately returned and I am awaiting my reimbursement of £50+.

Try it far in advance of your big day because you may end up shopping around for an alternative.
