    That's a real shame - XP/Vista connections can be murder. Have you done all the obvious things...

    1. Make sure both computers are in the same workgroup
    2. Make sure the IP addresses are in the same domain (eg 192.168.1.x)
    3. Try connecting with both firewalls disabled
    4. Google "XP pc can't see Vista network" (and variations). You'll find a thousand things to try (I tried them all!

    a windows service called "Workstation" that had stopped and had to be restarted.....
