Barclaycard UK Contact Details

Options
Hi, All
Does anyone know of a number which gets through to a UK contact, like in Northampton, where we send our payments? All the numbers we've tried, even though they have a Northampton dialling code, get put straight through to a call centre in India.

And ... does anyone have any good advice for a situation where a card's been used fraudulently and B'card insist they've sent out a 'dispute form' to us, which never arrives? And ... when we've cancelled the card, asked them NOT to issue a new one, to please close our account ... why do they then send out a new card, and no dispute form?:confused::cry:

If you ring Barclaycard Card Services during business hours on 01604 230230, you'll avoid the perishing 0870/0844 numbers and, with luck, the overseas call centre.

If this doesn't work, please try card services on 0800 917 7277 and let us know how you
    get on ;)

If you feel you have grounds for complaint against B'card, I would request a copy of its complaints procedure (you can do this in branch or over the phone). This sets out the time limits allowed for dealing with your complaint. The bank is also obliged to confirm the result of your complaint in writing. I would mark your envelope "Complaint" and send it recorded delivery.

You have the right to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, if you are not satisfied with the outcome.

  • Thank you, Moggles. We might well have tried that number; it seems that all the 01604 numbers get put straight through to an Indian call centre. However well trained and well-meaning they are, all we seem to get from them is a robotic response, rather than someone who's actually empowered to DO SOMETHING about the situation. Worst of all, when we ask to get put through to someone in the UK, we're told that they can't do that. Not good, really, is it? We've sent a fax through tonight, asking for someone from the UK to contact us, but also asking them to provide details of the FO if they can't be bothered to phone/fax/email. We'll try the 01604 number you've posted - thank you hugely for that, and promise to let you know how we get on! We did try an 01604 number this morning, early, reckoning that Bombay would still be asleep, but that didn't work! Bombay (or Delhi, or Calcutta ... ) was still in there!
    Thank you again!
