At this time of year, a lot of people like to donate to children's charities. I'm not going to name any, to safeguard my anonymity, but they tend to get a lot of things for young children, but not much for older kids and teens.
Things that are ideal for them include high st vouchers, toiletries and so on.for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.
New Year's Resolution: Post less unnecessary posts. (and that was 2007)
yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.0 -
I have volunteered twice at Forever Angels Baby Home and they need:
Antibacterial Hand Gel
Cotton Wool Balls
Most importantly.. child sponsors!! No minimum amount, whatever you can give. This goes towards the running costs of the baby home, but also other things that arise such as surgeries of babies who have been waiting for months in the local hospital (if you can call it that...) Check out the site, www.foreverangels.org . If anyone has any Q's PM me, it's an amazing charity I promise!!!OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

TBH I dont see the need for this thread.
It is a general fact that all charitys need stuff, if not items then cash pretty much all of the time! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

Wishlist:
• A coin counter! We are constantly counting piles and piles of loose change, and a machine that separates the different denominations, and then counts them up would be so brilliant!
• A second hand estate car for using as a Wildlife Rescue Vehicle for our staff and volunteers. Just a runaround,
• A new-ish laptop that we can use for our school presentations? We are visiting a good numbers of schools and local groups and showing our super PowerPoint presentation to them, but equipment varies so widely that we could really do with our own.
• A mini tractor with a front end loader, for moving bulky items around the centre......OR........
• A second hand golf cart - doesn't matter what condition it's in as long as it goes - we are constantly transporting large quantities of food or animal bedding, and this would be very useful.
• A Quad Bike!! - second hand - again for helping us move around the site more easily - we find it very difficult to ferry stuff around the centre and this would help us out loads!
Thanks! :T
