Is sims3 and a pink cover worth racking up £450++ more debt?!!
> . !!!! ----> .0 -
i already have the sims 3

And i need a new laptop, as i am just starting uni and this one keeps crashing every 20 minutes. So i thought i might aswell make sure i am getting one that will play the sims properly, cause this one doesn't.
then the one i have now is going to my little brother, as he will be starting his standard grades at school next year, so he will need his own computer, instead of sharing one with my mum.0 -
Reinstall windows.
It's £450 more debt, the money would be better used paying off your 30-40% debt, it's upto you, but if you keep buying nice shiny new stuff using money you don't have, you will continually running out of money, and be in debt forever.
Lets say in 3 years time you still have all that high apr debt hanging around, the laptop would have cost over a grand, (6 years - £2500) and you still have to pay the loan back someday.!!

i am paying cash for my laptop, not getting it on credit.
and i am buying it with my stident bursary, you don't pay bursaries back here in Scotland, you only pay your student loan part back.
I don't know how to reinstall windows. My friend set it all up for me when i got this one, i don't know the first thing about computers, except going online and on msn, and playing the sims lol0 -
If you have more debts than cash, it's payed for out of debt really, pay off the debt instead, and you will save £1000's in interest. Would you pay £1000, £2000 for the same laptop?
Post more info about crashes if you want help with the laptop, most laptops have either a CD/DVD to reinstall, or a recovery partition that does it easily (but you will lose all your data and programs if you use either option).!!

It keeps coming up with a blue screen with writing on it, then restarts0 -
What are you doing at the time, what does it say on the blue screen, how often, which laptop and operating system is it?!!

Not meaning to hijack your thread but I'm looking for a similar thing, it's main use, apart from internet, will be to play Sims 3. I've done lots of looking around and was planning on a pink Dell but I've been customising it and it's coming out at £700+ with a 1 year warranty. But dd has seen this one at Comet:
HP DV6-1216SA for £549.99
AMD Turion x 2 dual core
4GB memory
320 GB hard drive storage
ATI Mob Rad HD 4530 512MB Graphics
Would that be any good for what she wants to do? I've checked the notebook spec and the 4530 is coming out as top(ish) of class 3 graphics cards.0 -

The laptop I posted above for £499 would be a fair bit faster
