eBay reserve fees........

I recently paid £7.99 to have a reserve, its madness and daylight robbery. I heard that eBya pay back the reserve if you were to sell the item. Is there any truth behind that and if it is true then I think its abit stupid and hsould be the other way round.

Thanks,

Why did you pay £7.99 if you didn't agree with the cost?

I'm quite sure you don't receive the reserve fee back when an item sells.

It was'nt my decision, my mum wanted the item up there with the reserve price and I think im confused with the re-listing saga. So, if you re list an item and it sells, do you get back the insertion fees? ? ? getting kind of confused here......

If an item ends with no bids or the item remains unpaid then you are entitled to a relist credit. If it sells once relisted then you get back the insertion fee.

If you do relist and want to take advantage of the relist credit you have to make sure that you relist the item properly otherwise you won't get the insertion fee back.

Your item needs to meet the reserve for you to be this fee back (7.99)

Just to add to Razorbladekisses reply: If you relist and the item does NOT sell you do not get back the insertion fee.

If the item sells above the reserve you will pay:

listing fee - based on start price
final value fee - the amount of the highest bid
you will get the £7.99 reserve fee back

If the item does not reach the reserve and you dont sell it you will pay:

    Insertion Fee & Reserve Fee

If you then relist the item and it does not sell for a second time you will pay:

insertion fee & reserve fee again (yes twice)

However hopefully you will sell it the second time and pay:

    Insertion Fee (second time)
    Final Value Fee
    Reserve Fee (first time)
you will be refunded for the reserve fee second time & insertion fee second time.

Be very careful with additional options because they can cost a lot of money if you dont sell the item you want.

    Good Luck

Thanks I just got confused a bit, I only used the highlight option once and the photos, templates and the shop window all come from auctiva as its all FREE!!!

The item I was talking about was actually my table, its been up twice but still hasnt sold, even though one eBayer after a week sent me a messege saying he might collect for £300 which is reasonable as we was going to get rid of it for less asap. The second time when the table was on there were a few bids, hopefully, this guy buys it off me or i will put it on for the third and final time with a super low reserve.

What i dont get is that I put a £800 table on eBay and it doesnt even go higher than £200, I would happily let it go now for £300 as my new table is coming soon.

Don't take this the wrong way but you always seem to selling tables. Is it the same table or many tables?

For anyone here who doesn't like the fact that the minimum reserve on ebay is £50... there's a petition here:

razorbladekisses: LOL. I unfortunatly am trying to sell this ONE table. I put it on for 10 days twice, thats the reason why I keep talking about it and its frustrating that I can't get enough bids.
