I am due to go live with talk talk Broadband today but as yet have not gone live and just wanted to know do Talk talk always get people live on there due dates as just a little worried that its not going to go live.
I have got my talk talk router turned on but no DSL light on it yet(so take it its not gone live) and i have not got the router set up to my laptop as yet as was going to wait till the DSL light came on.
I take it that when the DSL light comes on that we i am live?
Also with the router a CD Rom came with it and would like to know do i really need to load that onto my laptop if i dont want to use it wireless?

Even when the DSL light comes on (connected by BT) your TalkTalk account would need to be activated by TalkTalk. You can configure your router now e.g. enter your username/password via your browser. You could be made live at any time today.
It's not necessary to use any CD and most ISP's CD's are best avoided, as they just load unnecessary crap onto your system.
How do I configure my Router without putting CD in that i got from Talk Talk?0 -
I set up my Talktalk router in advance using the supplied ethernet cable. Browse to 192.168.1.1, the username & password are already entered. You need to tick the wireless box to allow wireless operation. Remember to set WPA or WPA2 security.
Google "talktalk email settings" to get that sorted.
I eventually went live in the evening. It just happened after I fiddled with the filter and plugs. Coincidence or maybe something was wrong.
Anyway once setup I have it found it a very fast connection - no line problems so far!0 -

I went to that Address you gave and put in my username and password that Talk Talk gave me and it said it was wrong!!!
Does it matter on not doing this?0 -
I should browse to the Talktalk homepage then log onto My Account
Your user/password details are in the front of the yellow booklet they send out.
Then change the temporary email address to something unique and then goto your email program & set up a new account0
