Where do I find the link to the free Shorthold Tenancy Agreement?
Thanks in advance,
Westie
I should add - I am looking to see what others are out there - I am a tenant, and my landlord is looking to escape the LA - he has produced a AST that is even more one sided that the LA one.
I just wanted to see if they were all as bad before I sign it with my 'exceptions' to certain parts.
Now that you've flagged up your status as a "T", rather than spending your time looking at more poor examples of "free" tenancy agreements why not toddle off and read through the OFT's guide to unfair contract terms in tenancy agreements (Google it)
Its guidance and a term can only be fully deemed "unfair" by a court but it's a damn good place to start.0 -
In Scotland the letwise site has all the documents required for starting and ending a tenancy. This is applicable to Scotland only though.0

I'm not opposed to free but agreed it can be best to double check with a solicitor or citizens advice etc. At the very least though no harm in downloading free ones and then using them as a template before a solicitor signs off. I use these sites personally but there are a lot out there so have a look around:
letting-agreements.com
lettingexpert.com0 -
CAB does not exist to give business advice to LLs. The flaws in the agreements Steve is once again flagging up were discussed on here over two years ago.
Try a LL association, a specialist LL &T lawyer or your local Tenancy Relations Officer.0 -

Certainly don't want to get in to a dispute over this - but to clarify the CAB are good for telling you who you need to speak to and to put you on the right path. Not they will write / check an agreement with you. Or moreover they helped me, maybe others haven't had the same luck.0 -

As a warning, this is the second post today alone by this user pomoting these two websites. Approach with caution.0 -

I've also 'promoted' the CAB twice, ARLA twice, said I was unhappy with Panasonic and Tesco, and made a comment about saving fuel.
Oh and I gave somebody some advice on mortgages.
Perhaps if a moderator can just delete the thread and I'll know better next time?0 -
Try PIMS.co.uk its FREE
There's lots of information about Starting a Tenancy

Cant see how paying for something makes it any better than a freebie?

Mortgage was £690 now £560
