Now that changes everything, they are notorious for it, not uncommon to have 2 engines changed by the time they reach 20k. I really would try and reject the car or more likely get rid of it the moment its fixed and buy something reliable like the 370Z etc. Sorry to be so blunt but these engines as previously stated have pretty serious issues.

But i should add that if you pass the 20K mark the failures seem to drop off and they seem very reliable so guess you can only make that decision.

Audi have an official policy of offering you a bigger or better spec courtesy car than the one you are driving whenever possible. Not come across any other manufacturers that do that (although not saying that none do, just am not aware of it)
  • I'd take the option of not fussing on the loan car, use it as mentioned before, for runs to the tip etc. Can't you ask for a convertible Focus? At least that gives you the 'top down' option that you are missing at the moment.......... lord knows why as the weather is appalling. Think that you have bought at the wrong time of the year if you are thinking of resale already.. ... You need to put it up at Spring time - that is when everyone has hope - and are looking forward to a lovely sunny summer...

A flash BMW bodyshop once loaned me a Micra. Nice little car, actually.

Why would anyone spend £25,000+ on a car when £5000 will buy you a really decent ride?

The £5000 used car might be the better financial option but they are not "spending" £25,000 on a car.
The are somehow funding a £25,000 purchase price to later sell recover a propertion of that £25,000 back again. While they have that young car they don't have to pay for warranties or repairs, MOT, start with new tyres, don't have to service for a while and when they do it is the earlier cheaper services and they don't have to pay for breakdown cover. These things help to offset the higher depreciation though they will never completely offset it on a brand new car. Go for a nearly new car and you can break even with the right car.

Nearly 4 years ago I traded in a 7 year old car for £1500 and bought a "£28,000" car. If I sold it today the average monthly expense for this newer car is higher than the average monthly expense for 12 more months on the older car by about £100 - £120 a month. If I had waited and bought the "£28,000" car for £22,000 at 6 months old it actually works out slightly cheaper in the long run than keeping the older car. Both cars have similar performance, size and specification.

Inactive has been very quiet over these recent Hondo failures,, yeah?

To be honest you either bought it from the wrong place, based on what they will supply you with, or you have expectations that are rarely met on planet earth. Sorry but it's what happens. I took a top of the range car in for waranty work, they gave me a !!!!!!! Nissan Micra. Went back with low mileage but magamillion revs on the clock, + an egg cup full of fuel in the tank
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
