I am on Hoo exchange (ME post codes) don't download a lot ( I believe) on Youtube sometimes no films or music downloads either. Just browse and look up information or on model forums chatting and ordering internet items from Play, Amazon, HMV. and groceries.
Sorry for the delay in answering forgot to tick the box for replies.
The only LLU provider on your exchange is Talk Talk.I am not recommending them.:D

Have a read of this thread for some ideas.

I would not recommend TT either in terms of CS, but the pricing is unbeatable, as you can get the Essentials package at £6.49 (which is broadband plus unlimited weekend and evening calls, unlimited anytime is £4 more, line rental £11.25-same as BT).
Alternatively maybe look at Plusnet Value. As you're on a market 2 exchange that would be £5.99 for the first 3 months, then £11.99 (10GB monthly limit).
Bear in mind that watching YouTube is using data heavily, even though you're not downloading it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thank you macman and Ypaymore. I'll look into them but have heard one or two sad stories about TalkTalk.
Just looked at my download limit on the Tesco broadband and its 6GB which I seem to have never exceeded or have never been contact that i have.0 -
Seaspray.... what did you do regarding any change to your broadband and telephone land line deal ?.. because.. I too have been with Tesco Broadband for years, and also their Phone line rental.. The only thing free, is their directory service !
I once asked them details of changing, but it seemed too 'long-winded' a reply, and did not seem helpful...I left it as it was.. silly me obviously.
I did ask on this thread, ( somewhere ) for any advice from anyone, about changing over to a cheaper deal - but would this mean 'faffing about' with changing e mail address, etc ? ( can you see that I too, am not a flippin techie ? )
My monthly payments are £13.67 for their broadband.. ( dont know which - how can you tell ? ).. and roughly £30.00 per month for calls and line rental from Tesco too.. thats around £40 to £45 per month !!!..I know !!
Can ANYONE please help ? most obliged .. I did go onto TalkTalks Website and must have put in a few details, then abandoned it for some reason.. anyway, they gave me a call last week, but it was not convenient to talk.. they may call me back.. I'm sure they would offer less than £45 per month, all in ?
Thanks for reading, sorry for it being so long.. would there be any problems with Talk Talk do you think ?0 -
Hi nellkim
O.k. this is what I've done after a long time reviewing.
Took Martin's BB offer to go to plusnet. I start on the 23 November. I have kept my BT line rental @ £11.25 cause I am paper free and billed on line in my account. Also If I pay BT an extra £4.95 month most of my calls are free even 0845s and 0870s nos. Currently I have to be mean in using the phone on a weekend only free calls I've knocked down my bills to about £40-50 for the quarter. Martin's deal works out at what it says £s on a 18 month contact. If you apply to them using the bbchoices4 promotion code. One payment of about £30 for setup and router there after I am on DD from the bank. I opted for the wired router as I am happy with that and have one (Thompsons) trouble free for years. i may be able to use that one as its a Thompsons they sent out, good for backups. It seems (touch wood) that Plusnet have a good service although there is pockets of discontempt but you get that even with BT and Plusnet are part of BT subsidiary. You email address you have time to chance it when your up and running with another ISP as there is a forwarding process for your old email to your new one. This will give you time to do all the necessary changes required. I was on £17.58 a month with Tesco and thats all it was a ISP no phone or television. I believe it is best to have the phone, Internet and television with different suppliers. What I will say about Tesco it was a super ISP only broke down twice since 11/ 05 and it was the BT line at fault. I see you pay £13.67 for BB I tried that service weeks ago and it was so slow I immediately went back on to the £17.58 BB. If it is the same as me a change to another ISP will surely be 8 times faster . Now, Speed is determined on your exchange distance, how many people share BB with you and the condition of your phone line. I am at the moment 2.2 Mbps on a line even BT said I only get I Mb. You have to give Tesco a months notice that'll give you time to sort other things out. You can opt for the one first payment I think its about £30 and pay monthly on a monthly contract with Plusnet. the application at Plusnet is easy to fill in step by step or if in doubt there an 0800 number for assistanc.
Lets know how you get on

Thanks Seaspray for this kind advice.. I will go and look on plusnet website, ( I had never hear of them before ).. I did send an e mail to Tesco, asking them if they had a better deal on offer but they just sent me a sort of ' pick your own' query and answer type thingy, so I returned the question to them again.. we'll wait and see..
meanwhile, I am going to have a browse around, because, surely I am the worlds biggest fool for paying all this much for broadband and phone use ( and NO free calls either )
will let you know how I go.
thanks again..

Hi Nellykim
I tried that with Tesco to and got a kinda roundabout no.
I also meant to say that i am in market 2 with Plusnet and I will be charged the £11.99 a month . If your lucky in a built up area with lots of people on the BB on your exchange. You maybe a Market 1 costumer and the rate will stay at £5..99 competition you see. if your not sure go for the monthly contract to see if you both get on with each other.
I too paid so much for just BB with Tesco but it never broke down, eventually I woke up l.o.l.
if your going for package do read the small print. I found some of the phone call rate and times were dear and restrictive. Its a mine field.
Just notice that you gave up with Talk talk, thats the best thing you done with them. Also BT line rental + the £4.95 a month would be a good deal. Thats local calls and 0845, 0870 nos anytime. I believe, worth looking into !!!
