It's really good you're not angry at her. Things like that happen - even to the adults. Only the other day I left some Very Important Document at the local meat shop - thankfully they found it and kept it for me.From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
OP - if she only needs them for a few more week's is it really going to make a big difference to her teeth if you don't replace them?
I had the train track metal braces from age 14 - 16 years so fortunately they were glued to the teeth thus no chance of losing!0 -
I feel your pain - I'd want to cry if it were me!
Happens with kids though unfortunately... but we love em anyway!
Slightly different but someome placed an ad in my local paper a few weeks back, asking if anyone had found a new pair of Clarks school shoes in town, and I remember thinking how awful that parent must have felt when they got home and realised they were missing!0 -
Little consolation, I know, but better that she at least has the braces.
This type weren't around when I was younger, as a result I have had 5 years of orthodontics, followed by major maxillo facial surgery (broke and re-set both jaws) to correct the size of my jaws. And that is in my 30's! Much easier to have a brace when younger, despite the cost.0 -
Very brave of you Freda, I had my bottom jaw done at 16 so know how major it is. Are you pleased with the result now?
Can the OP ask the othodontist if she will need replacements as it's only for a few more weeks?0 -

JackieB, I don't think you are supposed to eat with the braces in??? It would be impossible to do (I have upper and lower, lower like a see through sheild over my teeth)..would be so much easier if you could though!!
edited to say it probably depends on the type of braces you have x
My daughter does have a box (a pink sparkly one). I keep the adjusting key in hers (had to widen the plate twice a week to start with - she has a narrow palate). She just uses it to put her braces in while she's cleaning her teeth. We were told to keep hers in as much as possible and yes, to eat with them in. It must depend on the type of brace.
She got a new tooth in a few weeks ago and her baby tooth hadn't came out, and it had been pushed towards the roof of her mouth. She couldn't wear her brace (it kept falling out cos of extra tooth) and had to get the baby tooth out. The orthodontist said just to keep her brace out for the rest of the day. I was expecting him to say to keep it out for a few days at least.
Has anyone else got a plastercast of their old teeth? We got one to take home that was taken before her treatment started. It's great to see the improvement.0 -

I had a brace for the top teeth, it was to push the top teeth out as when I closed my mouth they were behind the bottom teeth, it had a thing in the middle of it that I had to move every week or something so it slowly pushed my teeth forward
I wasnt allowed to eat with it in, I had to take it outDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

If it was going to be for more than a few weeks, I'd seriously consider getting a tracking device fitted to the braces box!

(Am sure you could sell it on ebay for most of the cost - actually just checked and they do have some second hand on there)The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -

The thought of adjusting with a key is too much:eek: Boy that sounds bad!!!!:o
I had a fixed brace upper and lower train track styleeee put in on March 2006 and got it removed March 2009...now I have to wear upper and lower retainers forever!!:rotfl:if I have them out for more than an hour putting them back in is really tight and a bruised feeling. Hopefully though in 6 months time I can just wear them in bed???????? Need to see my ortho I think he's forgotten about me...he took the brace off in March and said he would send an appointment out in three months time to see if alls good! might give him a phone tomorrow while I'm in the mood!
Was told by another ortho to get upper jaw surgery as I have a gummy smile...he said something along the lines of the top bone gets cut and the teeth positioned?????? stuff that you crazy man!!!!!!! It was pure cosmetic (well maybe a small part help with my clicky jaw) I looked it up on youtube and it put the fear of god into me...seriously watched it a cried!!!lol....then my normal ortho saw me and he was annoyed it was even mentioned to me as there is no need to be so drastic!!!! Think its called vertical maxillary excess.
just googled it and its also known as long face syndrome...cheeky git!!!!!:rotfl:You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0
