Help with Vodafone please!

Hi guys, I'm new to this but was wondering if you could help me. I'm having some problems with Vodafone and everything I've tried doesn't seem to work. My Blackberry Pearl 8100 stopped working about 4 weeks ago - it was going on this loop where it looked like it would power up and then the red LED light would come on and it would turn off and go through the same cycle. Sent it back to be repaired as it was still within warranty. To cut a long story short, 2 weeks later it came back as water damage (including a rather unhelpful picture of the damage which wasn't even identifiable as a phone, let alone mine!) and having spent over an hour in store, their best option for me was to extend my contract by 6 months and make me pay £40 for a cheap phone. The thing that is really galling is that I haven't had the phone anywhere near any water, baths, typhoons, monsoons or the like. Needless to say I declined this option and have since written an email to the CEO detailing my frustration, I got a phone call about a week ago from someone at Vodafone who left a message on my vmail saying he would email me his contact details which he never did, and now I don't know what to do. The phone has never been in any contact with any water and surely if its just ordinary atmospherics then its not fit for purpose - surely the whole point of a mobile phone is that its mobile?! What's even more frustrating is that if you google the symptoms it seems to be a problem that more than one person has suffered. I would really appreciate some advice as to what to do next, I'm using my old phone but am locked into a contract with Vodafone until April of next year. Please help! Thanks guys in advance :A

    Hi angelica135

I can understand this being a frustrating result for you.

There are a number of things that can cause water damage in a phone and the symptoms you can get from it can be varied.

If you would like me to look into some options for you send an email to us using the Contact Us form. Make sure you include a link to this thread and your uservame with your details in the body of the text and WRT135 in the subject line so it routes straight to us.

We'll get back to you with an answer as soon as we can.

    Thanks
