Got a new Motorola V545 and says that you can set up an Orange email account to send and receive emails. First what is the difference between GPRS and GPS on the phone and secondly can i set-up the phone so i can use my freeserve email account? instead of a new orange one i will have to set-up.

GPS is Global Position System, which tells you where you are.
GPRS is General Packet Radio Service [I bet you're glad you asked now!]. Without GPRS you would have to dial-up to access the internet, therefore you are charged per minute whilst connected. GPRS is basically like a mobile broadband where you don't dial-up, but you pay according to the amount of data.
Therefore, make sure you are using GPRS and not dial-up (CSD)!
If you have an email enabled phone, you can setup any email account, just as you can in a PC (eg in Outlook Express). You can program in the settings yourself, but some phones are available on Orange's setup site at http://setup.orange.co.uk/.0
