After the scan is finished do I remove or quarantine. I Had malwarebytes on a while back but can't remember what I did.

The guide you gave me at first to remove it was spy doctor who wanted paid to remove infections.

    Fingers crossed.

That guides for Malwarebytes not spy doctor :p You must have clicked on the Ads by Google at the top. Anyway, It's Malwarebytes you want :)

Don't be alarmed if the scan takes a long time, it can run for hours.
  • My friend's laptop had something like this on it (I think it was Security Centre 2009 or some other carp like that) - it wasn't too bad to remove, with help from Google, but it had let some other carp on there that was a real pain.

I ended up buying an external laptop hard drive case, putting his laptop's drive in it and hooking it up to my laptop to run AVG on it. It wasn't a problem as I'll need one of these cases later when I upgrade my lappy's drive, and it was only 9 quid on Amazon including delivery :)

Thanks...I must have clicked the ads right enough.

Scan is still running....with 31 infections so far.

I'll have to go to bed as up really early morning.

My son can check for scan stopping...,do we remove or quarantine?

    **Update on scan last night**

It actually had over 200 threats and managed to get rid or quarantine them.

    Thanks for all the advice.

We had been having a lot of pop ups too last couple of weeks but no sign of them either now..what a relief.

I don't know if you can suggest anything for another thing that's started...nothing major, just annoying.

If I click to go in to another window it doesn't have the maximise button on it anymore (this has been last couple of weeks also). I have to click on bar at bottom to open it up properly.

Just curious how it happened, and is there an easy way to fix it.

Thanks again for all help...much appreciated.

    Off to work now.
