I'll give up, when I'm settled. Living as I do is unsettling. Not being a home owner is unsettling ... what if I miss the boat... what if ... what if ...0 -
I have sympathy for these people, do others here?
I most certainly do, for the people in the show and the many other hundreds of thousands of people conned into paying vastly over the odds for housing - who may well be in a similar position in the very near future.
Was a child back in the late 70's - early 80's and remember vividly how tough it was in Liverpool in those days. Boys from the Blackstuff was far more of a documentary of the time, than a fictional drama. After watching again a couple of years ago, was almost brought to tears a number of times.
The people in this episode maybe middle class, but the stress of debt and heartache it can bring, is the same for everyone.
The real factor is the 70's recession hit the Northern cities far harder than the South, this time it's the entire Country.
Instead of "gissa job" it'll be...
