Oh - now I have read the rest of the thread I see I am 3 posters too late....oh well, great minds etc

I sure just sending your internet banking log on details would be just as effective.
That's somewhat unfair to us hip greenies who don't actually have statements.
    I think....

OK, maybe the oldest poster on this board, possibly. I have enjoyed mewbs posts but it`s hard not to, but really, mewbs hits it on the head about saving up to buy some grotty ex LHA flat for around 100k just about sums it up.

What has happened? Well we all know, some mad concoction of dodgy lending, um " creative " mortgages, little wage inflation, Kirsty and her media mates, expectations that will never come true and suddenly the credit crunch, that really was a surprise, not! Ok being simplistic but nothing has ever been proved to me that housing in the UK should have ever gone up much above the level of inflation.

I am bemused by it all but having said on a different thread, I have sacrificed, in interest rates, another fairly decent income stream. That tells me something that has gone very wrong.

Pobby, you're always a polite chap, however I disagree with your economic view. Prices of items are set by supply and demand. There's more demand per supply than there has been in the past. This will continue to lead to unafforable housing IMHO. I agree that it's unfortunate that those who prudently saved have been hit by the fallout of reckless lending.

To be funny for one night is hard enough, to be funny for 3 years believe me is nigh on impossible but the big man has pulled it off to be fair (just read that back , I have been knocking around with Pn for too long I think). I think we were enemies at first but I won him over in the end. We've been partners for years now and are both sat in our lounge on his and hers laptops as I type. Mse brought us together so I thank martin for that. I'll be back later going to make a brew. "Mewbs honey, want to dip the teabags for me?"

You don't half talk some !!!!!! brodders.

I respect your view but where is this demand coming from to shoot house prices up , certainly in my area, by 300%. Strange to say, I do follow these arguments, divorce, immigrants, just two of the reasons, but 300% in about 10 years?. I need a lot of convincing.

You and mewbs would be hilarious to go to the pub with. If you guys are ever in a watering hole near Reigate let me know. Strictly no teabagging while out though. It's Surrey, where the pervy stuff is done more discreetly. Feel free to bring your car keys and wives. ;)
