thanks for that, SwanJon, as I think its probably still the cheapest out there, I could be wrong though, I am a high user, all Electric about 10,300 per year.
By 'cheapest out there' do you mean cheaper than anything now available? i.e. there is nothing cheaper you could switch to?
There are of course other BG tariffs cheaper than click energy 6 - but not available for new users.0 -
Long term solution sign up for the telephone preference service. It takes about a month to kick in, but then they have to remove your numbers. If they call again, mention the telephone prefernce service to them and tell them that if they call again they will be breaching it (worth a shot)
Take theiur names at the start of the call so that you can use them later.
You could try complaining through their webiste or in writing.
Were all 15 calls on the same number?
Can you do TPS for mobiles? Yes all 15 calls from the same number! I'll try customer services today I think.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0 -
I just had a person from BG at my door asking about my maintenance contract but he was fishing for my details about who supplied my gas and electricity. I just started waffling on about how the companies were ripping us off and it wouldn't matter who you were with and BG were a massive company whose only purpose was to rip people off and other stuff. He thanked me and ran down the path (OK kidding about running down the path). I do that with every door caller, just start talking a load of rubbish. You can see by their expression that oh my god what have I got here?
Retirement is wonderful.

Yes!!! OMG! I have had this for 2yrs+ since I moved in here. THe previous supplier was BG and I moved my EON over to here. But that means I am a 'previous BG customer' which means I can't even seem to get them to stop with TPS or asking them.
And every time its the same aggressive, rude pushy tactics. I always say I'm not interested/cant be bothered. They always say something like I've just told you this will be much cheaper than your currently supplier (which is never true btw)....
Is there any way I can get them to !!!!!! off?0 -
Just close the door!!!!0

If I get a call like that, I put the phone down quietly and go off and do something else for 5-10 minutes. At least it wastes their time then, not mine. When I come back to hang up, they have always gone away!A chicken crossing the road is poultry in motion0 -
As I'm with cheap cable package I dont get caller ID. Dispite being signed upto BT preference service I used to come home to 1-2 messages on my answerphone a day. Each time I played there was a long pause and then Beep beep beep! I did a 1471 and recieved a recorded announcemnt from Brtish gas saying it was not important and they will get in contact with me shortly.
Not being a customer of british gas (and not for over a year) I was abit perplexed. Even more frustrating I came home to 3 calls a day. Assuminly all from British Gas.
I managed to catch one call and asked why they were phoning me as I hadn't been a customer for them for over a year. She went on to tell me about their wonderful rates. I inturupted her and asked her for her name and team mumber number. I informed her I have my number registered with BT preference and I should not be getting cold calls. I was told It wasn't a cold call as I was a previous customer and she wasn't selling me anything. I asked her to remove my phone number form the system and asked not to be contacted again. So far it seems to have worked.0
