Anyone else being harangued by British Gas?

I think they must be on some kind of drive at the moment to get customers to come back to British Gas. I was really nice to the first lady who rang up (on my mobile), went through the price comparison to see if it would be cheaper (it wasn't), asked her if she could price match (she couldn't) and then said thank you and goodbye. Since then, I've had 15 phonecalls in the space of 5 days all wanting to talk to me about the same thing! I keep asking to be taken off their telesales list, but they just keep ringing. All the staff bar the first lady have been incredibly rude when I asked to be taken off the list, and while I realise they have targets to meet etc I don't think it's difficult to be polite! That's one of the reasons I left BG in the first place; rude, unhelpful staff who genuinely don't give a damn what you are ringing up for.
*phew, rant over*
Any offers on how to get rid of them? The last one I spoke to refused to put me on to her manager and then hung up on me.

Long term solution sign up for the telephone preference service. It takes about a month to kick in, but then they have to remove your numbers. If they call again, mention the telephone prefernce service to them and tell them that if they call again they will be breaching it (worth a shot)
Take theiur names at the start of the call so that you can use them later.
You could try complaining through their webiste or in writing.
Were all 15 calls on the same number?0 -

You should have asked her if she could put you on the business tariff, like up to 2.5% of one BG call centre staff have ALLEGEDLY done for themselves. It apparently works out cheaper. Job done.Call me Carmine....

What a fantastically useful post. Ignores the OP's point just for an irrelevant dig.

Click 6 as far as im concerned has been pulled.
Do you mean Click 6 PAYGE ?
I work at BGS not BGE pal but on the intranet there has been no indication of any tariffs getting pulled or amended since the arrival of the great websaver 4 ......His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -

AFAIK, none of the click's have been pulled, but the tariffs have become much less appealing over time (when price changes are announced).
It would be much easier if they roll all the click tariffs into one next time (the cheapest one hopefully!)
The websavers are tracker tariffs and have an end date - the Clicks were just different tariffs and I've seen no evidence (touch wood) that existing customers will be kicked off them.0 -
thanks for that, SwanJon, as I think its probably still the cheapest out there, I could be wrong though, I am a high user, all Electric about 10,300 per year. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!
