move downstairs bathroom upstairs. shortage of windows!

  • Highly unlikely you will actually need planning permission for the window either, especially on the rear, unless there are any restrictive conditions on the original planning permission for the house - although windows are usually only restricted on the sides, where overlooking could occur, not on the rear.
  • It will help to have lots of plumbing on the floor directly below. Never get one of those compacting loos that send the waste down a long pipe! Make sure you get a good plumber who knows all the relevant building regs.

    if you dont have a window, then please do buy a fiercesomely good extractor fan - if you dont, black mould will appear before you can blink and it will never go away .........
  • Thanks everyone - this has been a big help.

    The bathroom will be above the kitchen- so pluming should be ok. And I'll contact the planning office/ or ask a local builder about the window.
