2 year old birthday party and presents

I I'd rather just be left alone to get what I want to get, rather than have to stick to what someone's written on the invite. But each to their own.

I agree. Don't mention money. People will spend what they choose and being told not to spend over a certain amount can be quite stressful hunting down the right present at the right price.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I haven't any advice for the solution, but just wanted to say that I think it is a great idea and will be using it when my son turns 2. His birthday is just after christmas and I was thinking of not having a party full stop as I did not want people to feel they had to bring a gift, particularly after the expense of the festive season. We just want people to come so we can all enjoy each others company!
Thank you!
But who are your guests going to dump their unwanted Christmas gifts on now?? :rotfl:
DS will be 4 on Boxing Day and I have yet to have a "proper" birthday party for him for this reason (amongst others) - I don't want to be lumbered with other children's tat!! Or maybe I'm being a bit harsh?
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I think it is entirely up to you, I wouldn't be offended at all! I tend to spend what I can afford, and so some may get a more expensive present, but I make a lot of things (I embroider 'quirky' t-shirts for my close friends kids.) I know these friends appreciate these gifts a lot more than a more expensive gift and they cost very little apart from time!
For other parties I tend to buy a book, I often buy them in sales or in BOGOF etc for when I know peoples birthdays will come around, personally I think you can never have too many books, and whilst the kids may not be instantly excited about it, it will provide some longer lasting entertainment, and doesn't take much room to store on a bookshelf.0
