It's not "rewired". It's Rewired.
The copycat in other words. I believe other purely thanking usernames have been rewired3 & rewirded2. Presume these are getting banned.
This is only possible because the MSE site and forums are being hosted on a Linux web server.
A Microsoft web server would not distinguish the difference between Rewired and rewired. M$ operating systems do not recognise case sensitivity.0 -

Are you serious here?
If you are, it's got nothing to do with the web server, it's how forum registration has been set up. Usually, you'd convert the registering name into lowercase and see if it matched any others, if it did you'd ask the person to pick another name. There are plenty of other forum sites on Linux servers that don't allow duplicate names differing only in case.0 -

Yeah your right. I got my authentication and case sensitivity mixed up. Of course the database used for the users of the forum have nothing to do with the Linux server accounts/authentication.
They are certainly running a Linux server mind you.

Also it is very interesting to see what other domains are being hosted on the web server that moneysavingexpert.com is being hosted on. Not that there is necessarily any link between the sites.0 -
TE " Sept. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Joseph Stiglitz, the Nobel Prize- winning economist, said the U.S. has failed to fix the underlying problems of its banking system after the credit crunch and the collapse of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.
“In the U.S. and many other countries, the too-big-to-fail banks have become even bigger,” Stiglitz said in an interview yesterday in Paris. “The problems are worse than they were in 2007 before the crisis.”
“It’s an outrage,” especially “in the U.S. where we poured so much money into the banks,” Stiglitz said. “The administration seems very reluctant to do what is necessary. Yes they’ll do something, the question is: Will they do as much as requiredIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
I'm not a fan of Gordon Brown but I think this was one instance where he really did take decisive action. IIRC Britain was one of the first countries to step in and part-nationalise its banks when they were starting to fall like nine-pins.
If the boom hadn't been allowed to get out of hand, it wouldn't have been necessary, but given the situation at that point it was probably the right decision.
Though the USA was quick enough to sink Lehmans and let foreign investors pay the price.........
GB had no option but to save the UK retail banks. Would have been political suicide to take any other course of action.0 -

I think it's those very nice Chinese and Arab peeps who should get the credit for giving us the credit (if you see what I mean).
We are going to need a lot more dosh loaned to us in the next few years; and I believe AD's colour inkjet is looking very tired after all that printing...:)0 -
It's not a question of ,if we're coming out of recession who gets the credit ?.
Remember we are British and it's,
if we've been in recession who gets the blame ?.
I strongly suspect a few compensation claims flying around because where there's blame !Space available for rent0 -
Who gets the blame: US
Who got us out: Gordon0 -
So what I'm wondering is ... if you personally think the worst of the recession is now over, do you give the government credit for making the right decisions in the face of imminent financial catastrophe?
Its all thanks to Fabio Capello
