If we're out of the woods now ... who gets the credit?

We're not...............so nobody is the answer.
Everything is very fragile, and nobody can say with any certainty what is around the corner.
The measures taken to avert a depression/crisis are unprecedented, unproven and the ultimate results unknown.
We may have dodged one bullet, only to be walking straight into another.
I think I'm going to wait a while before dishing out too much credit to anyone.
I'm mostly in agreement with you. I think it would have been catastrophic to let banks continue to collapse, but by bailing them out (ie nationalising their losses) I think what has been done is basically dilute the pain over a number of years.
With regard to house prices, a year ago 50% collapse in house prices was easy to imagine. Now it's a lot harder to visualise, but I still think it could happen, just over a longer period of time.
I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years time the economy still isn't looking too great. If that's the case, Labour and the Conservatives will both be getting a share of the blame, and nobody will get any credit for doing anything right.0 -

What exactly did the Conservatives do to reduce unemployment when they were in power:?
YTS anyone?!?!?
There is at least one footballer that I know about who was only taken on by a club because of YTS and soon went on to win a major trophy
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I think people won't vote labour because working people are sick to death of paying out for people who can't be ar@sed to work........which Labour seem to love making people do.
Im not a fan of Labour or Gordon Brown by any strech of the imagination, but cannot bring myself to vote Tory, esp while that knob Cameron is in charge.0 -
Bloody hell on more important news rewired thanked someone considered to be a "bull"
Get me some water

Don't get yourself too excited.
It's not "rewired". It's Rewired.
The copycat in other words. I believe other purely thanking usernames have been rewired3 & rewirded2. Presume these are getting banned.0 -

I think Cameron's Conservatives would manage to get about 3 votes north of the border and all 3 will have to come from some elderly people who have voted Conservative all their lives and refuse to change teams at such a late stage.0 -

all "rewireds" should be banned, they don't serve much purpose.0 -
