Another vote for the Morphy Richards Fastbake here!
Made a loaf every week (plus pizza bases) for 2.5 years now and still going strong, it cost me £40 (may have been special offer) but it's paid for itself several times over now
One thing I think puts people off is the recipes in the manual in my opinion are way off... I use quite a different mix for a wholemeal loaf and EVERYONE comments how good it is
care to share the recipes please :TMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
Yeh, for wholemeal loaf I use this:-
1 5/8 cups of water
3 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp salt
2 cups wholewheat flour
2 cups strong white flour (can use plain flour)
1/2 tsp yeast
I'm sure I based it on a recipe I found on here, plenty more info and recipes in this thread0 -

I agree, I use a half and half flour mix and I've basically halved the sugar and salt, use 1 tsp of yeast instead of 1.5, taken out the milk powder and as I said, I bake it for 2hours 50 mins instead the 3 hour cycle.
I then put it in a cupboard while still warm (I also take the paddle out just after the nuts beeper) so it has a hypodermic type hole and has a lovely soft crust.
