I bet you wouldn't be complaining if the phone call had been someone calling to tell you you'd won a competition would you?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Data Protection Act breach much, BT?
Have you tried the TPS (Telephone Preference Service, I think it is) - puts you on a list of 'no cold callers'. I did it a few years ago, and made life much more pleasant. Now I don't have a landline, so it doesn't matter so much for me - I'd give you some contact details, but I've since thrown the paperwork, but simple to set up.stebiz wrote:Reminds me of the days when I used to leave a message on my answerphone 'Thanks for calling. That reminds me when I recently made a call to a customer, his answerphone message was "We're not answering the phone, so leave a short message or leave us alone." :rotfl:A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone - Thoreau0 -

I used to work in a call centre making outgoing calls until 10pm and sometimes from 8am. Lots of people I called sounded like they'd just woken up.0

Nothing wrong with that, based on their hours of business - what time did you order the pizza in the first place?0

I have been a BT customer, I'm now with TalkTalk (and happier with the price and service), and it was an old, settled, dormant, closed, account that was enabling them to call me.0 -
If they call again could you tell them that they forgot the mango dip for my chicken tikka pizza. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

What's the main issue here? For me a call at that time is annoying because it may wake my son. If it wasn't for him then i'd prefer calls at that time rather then when I am taking the first mouth of my tea.0

Once these companies have your details they'll keep bugging you and probably pass them onto other companies that they are linked with. So you may find your'e getting calls from all sorts of other business...probably telling you that you have won a "trip of a lifetime" with one little caveat - you'll have to pay them a "small deposit" to claim your prize, of course!!0
