George At Asda... Never again

I was going to a wedding reception over in Bury yesterday, on the way over we stopped for diesel and some dripped out of the pump onto my trousers. I didn't want to stink of diesel all night so I decided to stop at the Asda we had to pass and pick up a cheap pair of trousers for the night.
The George department was a total shambles.
First of all most of the sizing labels had been taken off the hangers so I had to look at each individual pair of trousers for the size I needed, the ones that did have labels on the hangers didn't actually match what was on the hanger. I picked up what was supposed to be a 36'' short pair but it turned out to be 40'' long.
When I did eventually find a size I wanted I decided to try them on, went to the changing rooms which were filthy and loose clothes in every cubicle, not just the odd shirt hanging up but piles of clothes just slung in a corner.
When I did try them on they didn't fit so I checked the actual label sewn in to the trousers and it turned out they were a 32'' Regular, dispite having a label attached to the outside saying they were 36'' short.
I ended up getting annoyed and decided I would go to Tesco instead, walked straight in, everything I looked at actually matched what it said on the hanger and I was out in less than 5 minutes.
I can honestly say I have never been in a clothing department anywhere as shambolic as the one at that particular Asda.
On the way out the manager asked if everything was ok as he had heard me ranting to my wife, he must have regretted ever asking after my rant to him

What was the managers response?"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0

To be fair I have been to the big one at Morley and never really had a problem which is why I thought I would go to Asda as opposed to Tesco.
I wouldn't go anywhere near Primark, I have only been to the one in Manchester and it was a nightmare, I hate shopping at the best of times.PinkLipgloss wrote: »What was the managers response?
He just said he would go and have a look for himself but thanks for letting him know.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -
Sounds like you got a pretty constructive response.
Do you not think that your thread title is a complete overreaction, especially as you admit that other stores are ok?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Its normally fine with everything where it should and good stock of everything. Its going through a refurb so thats more than likely why.
I do presume you mean Radcliffe, the Bury store doesn't have clothes.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

It's not a over reaction as if I want any clothes from a supermarket again I will go to Tesco as it was a whole lot easier. Just my personal preference from now on.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

That's some sock shop
Maybe it's just because it was a Saturday and it had been busy but I would have thought that they should at least check the changing rooms every now and again. With out exaggerating there were dozens of clothes just screwed up and left on the floor in the changing cubicles which means that people will have also been standing all over them making them dirty or even damaged. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

If one bad experience means you will not shop at a particular chain of stores again, then it is an overreaction!Gone ... or have I?0
