YOUR FATHER IN LAW CANNOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE MOBILITY SCHEME AND THERE ARE NO OTHER SCHEMES THAT OFFER WHEELCHAIR ACCESSABLE VEHICLES, YOU ARE RUDE TO OTHER USERS WHO ARE ALL TRYING TO TELL YOU IF YOU WANT THAT VEHICLE YOU WOULD HAVE TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE COMPANY THAT MAKES IT AND PAY THE £25,000 OR SO IT COSTS.
iF YOUR fil CAN AFFORD ONE IT WILL TAKE TIME TO BUILD BECAUSE THESE ARE NOT MASS MARKET CARS.

Once you understand that you need to look at the alternatives like hireing a WAV, it costs way more than mobility but if you are looking for something to help your wife and FIL, all his AA (at higher rate) wont cover it but if you are interested contact the company your intrested in and ask about hire or ask here and I`ll post a link.
There has to be age limits or we all would claim our pensions/pension credit/tax credits etc that we cant claim on the basis of age and that conversation should be in DT and not here.

You would if you knew about these vehicles, they rarely come in autos except to order and companies will only come so far and Ive never found a company in Scotland so I will be looking just south of the border.
Ive been where you are, my grandfather was dieing and we couldnt take him anywhere at all because it hurt him to move and at that time there was no such thing as WAVs to hire and while its going to be not the easiest thing for you its not impossible.

chajun it is because the hospital know that your wife is available to drive him home that they give him such a rediculous time for his dialysis. What do you think would happen if he was alone in the world and had no one to provide such care? They would either find him some transport or move him to a more civilised time or give him a bed for the night.. seriously people are only trying to alert you to how the system works..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
