'm not quite sure who you are BUT We don't want a free anything only what should be for a 72 year old man with Renal problems and a recently amputated leg. If you can't act with a little sympathy I suggest you don't reply any further. And yet again in the specially modded vehicle he could travel in his wheel chair.

    A little knowledge is dangerous

People are trying to help. They may not have the right information all of the time, but their intentions are good. You are very rude.
    Gone ... or have I?

"Why does she have to 'slide' him, he has use of one leg doesn't he?"

And I suppose this wasn't rude. I notice the post seems to have vanished!

Sometimes people think better of a comment and withdraw it; unfortunately, you have chosen to perpetuate it.

Not at all, why make a rude comment like that. Unhelpful it was.

I wasn't being rude. I meant it in the niceest of ways. Just that he had a leg and could stand on that to move intoa wheelchair.

I don't knwo why the post isn't there now. A few of them have gone but I wasn't the one who removed them.

I was not trying to be rude. I was trying to be helpful and have given you lots of ways around your problem.
You have been rude back to me by making out that I am stupid. And you calling me "Miss Info" is also a bit rude.

I also added that even if you got a modified car at £55 a week, yiour FIL doesn't get DLA so how would you get it? And as he can't drive how could he buy a car on mobility anyway? Mobility cars are only to be used for the person on DLA.
You don't seem to want to try find a solution to your problem, you just come back with sarcastic comments thats aren't helping.
As I said, its like you don't want any solution, you just want the one solution. A new car. And how to get it!
(btw Its £55 mobility, not £55 for anyone)
  • Motability cars are for the use of the person on DLA, however you can have (up to 2 i believe) named drivers. You can get a motability car for anyone of DLA age- so 5 year olds can have a car from their DLA, with a parent/named driver driving it for their benefit.
To be honest Chajun, if you come on here wanting advice, it's rude not to thank people and then raise any problems you can see with their idea, they can only help from the information you've given, so if it's not helpful to you, it's not THEIR fault! If you think you know best, why ask for advice?

I apologise but some of the replies were rude to start with and incorrect information. I do though get the impression that some of the responders are NHS/ government biased.

I am just a disabled, ill person sitting at home doing my bits and pieces and taking a bit of time during my day to pop on here to see if I can help anyone else out with any bits I might know about or have come across.

I don't work for the NHS or anything as Idon't work at all however, Ido know for a fact that your FIL is entitled to free hospital transport.
If you dont want to take up the free transport then that is totally up to you but it really doesnt serve any purpose to say "not in Edinburgh" as though we don't know what we are saying.
We are only trying to help you out.

And what would be wrong about that?
